← Takaisin / Back Vappu Jalonen AU: Chapter 2 (2024)

The occupant calls the well-being centre. Later, it is recorded in the healthcare register that the client wants to be examined, and seems agitated. Their request relates to their heart or headache or the pain radiating from their lower back to the sole of their right foot. Usually the calls go badly and lead nowhere. The occupant talks confusedly or is angry or perhaps too calm or is misbehaving in some way. The nurse says they are just answering the phone. The occupant says that is true, but there is no other access to the system.

“You have a panic disorder”, they say to the occupant, as well as to others assumed to be women.

The occupant thinks about the money being siphoned away from the well-being centre, and the nurses being laid off or leaving for other reasons, and the occupant thinks about the share prices and the profits of the owners and the government money flowing like a greasy river into the private sector.
